This masterpiece of American theatre tells the story of a small, fictional town in New Hampshire at the turn of the 20th century. We follow the citizens of Grover’s Corners through moments of their every day lives, guided by the character of the Stage Manager. The three acts unfold meditations on love, human relationships, marriage, life and death. It is a story told with great humour, drama and thoughtfulness. Produced on Broadway in 1938, Wilder was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama that same year for the work.
